Recently awarded ‘Bronze, in the ‘Casual Dining & Restaurant of The Year’ category in the Dorset Tourism Awards. Shalims Indian Restaurant is bringing back a firm Weymouth favourite in March, Thali, an Indian Street Food. This style of Indian food is returning every Wednesday night during the month.

The name Thali comes from the dish in which it is traditionally served (a metal platter with small, fitted bowls known as Katori). Each platter is filled with a selection of five different and unique dishes (meat, vegetarian and now vegan options) served with rice and nan bread.

Shalim will be serving up these tasty dishes alongside their regular restaurant menu.

Shalim tells us more about Thali “It’s a great way to try some new dishes. Each of the five dishes comes in a small portion, giving you a taste of something you may have never tried before. I know many people stick to the same dishes when they go out for a curry because they know what they like and don’t want to try something new, that they may not like. Our Thali nights gives everyone the chance to try five small Thali dishes and not have to worry about ordering the wrong dish. Each week, Chef prepares a new selection of meat and vegetarian options, so no two weeks are the same. This year there will also be some vegan options, too”

Thali is a perfectly balanced meal and allows you to taste many Indian dishes in one sitting. Thali nights start at Shalims Indian Restaurant on Wednesday 2nd March and run until Wednesday 30th March.
